Whether you live here or are visiting, everyone wants to know how do you get to that beautiful beach! We all want to get our toes in the sand and rest our eyes on the clear emerald water that naturally puts you into a state of relaxation!
We have gathered some tips of how to get to the various Beach Access Points.
Okaloosa Island
Several Access Points. One of our favorites is John Beasley Park. You can also access the beach from the Okaloosa Island Boardwalk where there is always a ton of parking. Along the stretch of road headed East, be careful when pulling off the raod, the sand can be tricky for some vehicles.
Garnier's Beach Park is really nice for family day at the beach. This beach area has swimming and any wake you experience is from boats passing by.
Ft Walton Beach's Landing Park is a nice area to experience the beach life. It is in the heart of downtown, so if you get hungry, there's plenty of choices along the strip. Most of Ft. Walton Beach's access are on Okaloosa Island, including one that is just for military that have a valid ID.
Destin has many access points to the beach. Some are state parks, and some are public. Remember, there's enough beach for everyone
Navarre Beach is still one of the less populated Gulf access points. But don't be fooled, lots of locals come here so we can't promise it won't get crowded.
The beaches of the Emerald Coast are beautiful and can provide excellent memories. Check a few of the areas out and see which one you like best. Key tips for your beach adventures. Take lots of bottled water (No glass!), reapply your sunscreen often. The white sand reflects a ton of sunlight, and even the folks with a base tan can get a nice sunburn when not using sunscreen or protective clothing. Bring beach umbrellas for little ones, so they can enjoy some shade. Remember to clean up after yourselves. Leave only footprints in the sand.
